What is RTI Act ?

This is RTI Act !

An Indian Act No.22/2005, enacted in our land after 58 years of our independence ,that too after persistent struggle by the Civil Society for about 12 years, in and out of our Parliament.

This is one and only Act., which empower, each and every citizen of India, the real constitutional power to access information in any corner of India.

The preamble of this Act  is very noble ,which beautifully says as , “ Democracy requires an informed citizenry and transparency of information which are vital to its functioning and also to contain corruption and to hold Governments and their instrumentalities accountable to the Governed ”.

Since transparency prevents and contains corruption, this is definitely a weapon for anti-corruption , to be used by the people who formed their Governments.

This Act., given an Indian citizen on par with the elected body i.e. State Assemblies and Parliament, to access information.

Right to Information Act, 2005. applies all over India except Jammu and Kashmir and makes all the Central , State Public Authorities and also the private bodies accountable , through the PA which have power to control such private body.

An Indian can get informations relating to the functioning of Each and every Ministry in States and Central Governments, the schemes and plans being implemented by each and every Public Authority in our land, know the benefits extended by each and every Public Authority to every citizen and also to the institutions know the procedure of applying for such benefits with forms of applications and mode of application.

This Act., helps every citizen to get informations so as to prevent corruption before it takes place, bring out the documents relating to corruption took place, ensure good governance down from village /panchayat to Ministry

This is the most powerful anti-corruption law in our land than others of such kind.

This powerful weapon came to force on 12th October 2005. Even after the lapse of 9 years only 5 % of the people do aware of about this Act., The users would be less than that.

Only therefore we the Voice of Indian has taken as our mission to make use of it by more percentage of people , to propagate it and to protect it from the cruel paws of corrupt Politicians and Bureaucrats.
